With a stellar safety record, thousands of satisfied customers and the youngest fleet of ECO-Star
helicopters in the industry, it’s easy to see why Mustang is the top choice for helicopter tours of
Las Vegas, Hoover Dam and the Grand Canyon.
Excursions require a minimum number of passengers to operate. Prices and schedules
are subject to change without notice. A 48-hour cancellation notice is required;
no-shows at time of departure will be charged in full and will not receive a refund.
All times are approximate. Mustang Helicopters reserves the right to combine different
length flights. Group terms may vary depending on booking time and number of guests.
The maximum weight limit per person is 300 pounds and the total passenger weight on
the helicopter may not exceed 1,240 pounds (seven passengers). Guests over the weight
limit will be required to purchase 2 seats. Children over the age of 2 will
be required to purchase a seat.
Mustang flies EC-130 B4 ECO-Star helicopters exclusively. The ECO-Star is the most
state-of-the-art tour helicopter flown in the world and offers the highest level
of safety in the industry.
We fly the ECO-Star helicopter between 120 and 130 mph.
Mustang has the same safety rating as its sister company Maverick Helicopters, since
Mustang flies under the same certificate. We're proud of having the top safety record of any tourism-based aviation company in the world.
Guests will be assigned a pickup time and location at the time of booking. Guests
will be transferred via our sister company, Maverick Helicopters’ shuttles.
We cannot guarantee or determine seating until the date of departure after all guests
are weighed in. Seating is based on bodyweight and balancing of the aircraft.
Mustang flies one mile further in the canyon than other tour operators, resulting in a longer flight time and more scenic views for our passengers.
Guests over 18 must bring valid photo identification in order to board the aircraft.
Comfortable clothing and shoes are recommended. Cameras, binoculars and video cameras are encouraged.
Also, a water bottle and light clothing are recommended for hot summer months. Gloves,
scarves and heavy coats are recommended during winter months.
Las Vegas is roughly 75 miles from the Grand Canyon.
Mustang Helicopters prides itself on being the “spirit of adventure” tour company
in the Las Vegas Valley. Guests will be treated to plush ECO-Star helicopters
with wraparound windows for outstanding visibility and 23 percent larger cabin space than other tour helicopters. Passengers also enjoy our individual leather seating in a theater-style arrangement. Mustang’s
experienced pilots give a personal narration throughout the excursion to provide
you with trivia, facts and other amazing tidbits. Also, Mustang offers the chance
to experience the Grand Canyon in a way you will never forget.
Yes, Mustang does charge a fee for rescheduling requests made within 48 hours of your flight time. There’s a $50 per person rescheduling fee for the Grand Canyon Discovery Tour and a $100 per person rescheduling fee for the other Grand Canyon tours.
Your child must be under 2 years of age, weighing 25 pounds or less. Parents are required
to purchase a seat for the child if both of these requirements are not met. Parents
must have proof of child’s age at check-in. We will accept passport or birth certificate.
Passengers under the age of 16 must be accompanied on the flight by an adult. Passengers of ages 16 or 17 must
have a signed permission/authorization from their parent/guardian or their parent/guardian must check them in for the flight.
Yes. To fly and be accommodated, you will need to have a collapsible wheelchair with removable
wheels. You must also be accompanied by someone who can assist you with boarding and disembarking
the aircraft. Maverick is ADA compliant.
Mustang allows oxygen condensers and tanks as long as there is a clearly visible
‘D.O.T. Approved’ stamp or placard on it.
No. There are no service animals permitted on any of the helicopter flights. Title 14 of The Code of
Federal Regulations, Part 382.117, states that animals cannot fly if “the animal obstructs an aisle or
other area that must remain unobstructed to facilitate an emergency evacuation.” Every exit and aisle
on a helicopter is an emergency exit and aisle. Additionally, as no one can be certain of how an animal
will react when highly stressed or traumatized, their access to the flight controls is a major safety
concern to all aboard the helicopter, especially in the event of an emergency.
The Federal Department of Transportation has banned Samsung Galaxy Note 7 phones from all
aircraft. The Samsung Galaxy Note 7 device is considered a forbidden hazardous material and
individuals may not transport the device on their person, in carry-on baggage, in checked
baggage, or as air cargo on flights to, from, or within the United States. If passengers
attempt to evade the ban, the phones may be confiscated and passengers may face criminal
prosecution and fines.
Yes, pregnant women fly with Maverick often. We always recommend checking with your doctor.
Motion discomfort products are available for purchase in the gift shop. Motion sickness bags
are located onboard the aircraft in the seat back pockets.
Smoking is prohibited onboard the aircraft and on the ramp.
Bottled water is the only beverage allowed to be consumed on the aircraft during flight.
Cellphone voice, messaging, and data use is prohibited on the aircraft. Mobile devices must be
turned off or set to airplane mode prior to boarding.
Personal photography is prohibited on the ramp. Passengers will have the opportunity to
take pictures of the aircraft after landing.
Passengers are prohibited from touching the doors of the aircraft unless given instruction
to do so by the pilot. The pilot will open and close all aircraft doors.
Pilot gratuities are accepted and appreciated.
