Excursions require a minimum number of passengers to operate. Prices and schedules are subject to change without notice. A 24-hour cancellation notice is required; no-shows at time of departure will be charged in full and will not receive a refund. All times are approximate. Mustang Helicopters reserves the right to combine different length flights. Group terms may vary depending on booking time and number of guests. The maximum weight limit per person is 300 pounds and the total passenger weight on the helicopter may not exceed 1,240 pounds (seven passengers). Guests over the weight limit will be required to purchase 2 seats. Children over the age of 2 will be required to purchase a seat.

  • What type of helicopter does Mustang fly?

    Mustang flies EC-130 B4 ECO-Star helicopters exclusively. The ECO-Star is the most state-of-the-art tour helicopter flown in the world and offers the highest level of safety in the industry.

  • How fast do we fly?

    We fly the ECO-Star helicopter between 120 and 130 mph.

  • What is Mustang’s safety record?

    Mustang has the same safety rating as its sister company Maverick Helicopters, since Mustang flies under the same certificate. We're proud of having the top safety record of any tourism-based aviation company in the world.

  • Where and when will I be picked up at my hotel?

    Guests will be assigned a pickup time and location at the time of booking. Guests will be transferred via our sister company, Maverick Helicopters’ shuttles.

  • Can we sit in the front?

    We cannot guarantee or determine seating until the date of departure after all guests are weighed in. Seating is based on bodyweight and balancing of the aircraft.

  • How much further does Mustang fly into the Grand Canyon compared to other tour companies?

    Mustang flies one mile further in the canyon than other tour operators, resulting in a longer flight time and more scenic views for our passengers.

  • What do I need to bring?

    Guests over 18 must bring valid photo identification in order to board the aircraft. Comfortable clothing and shoes are recommended. Cameras and video cameras are encouraged. Also, a water bottle and light clothing are recommended for hot summer months. Gloves, scarves and heavy coats are recommended during winter months.

  • How many miles is the Grand Canyon from Las Vegas?

    Las Vegas is roughly 75 miles from the Grand Canyon.

  • What should I expect on my helicopter adventure?

  • Does Mustang have a rescheduling fee?

    Yes, Mustang will charge a rescheduling fee of $100 per person for Grand Canyon tours.

  • What are the requirements for my child to qualify as a lap child, meaning that he/she may fly along with me on my lap without being required to purchase a seat for the child?

    Your child must be under 2 years of age, weighing 25 pounds or less. Parents are required to purchase a seat for the child if both of these requirements are not met. Parents must have proof of child’s age at check-in. We will accept passport or birth certificate.

  • I use an oxygen tank for medical necessity. Can I bring it on my flight?

    Mustang allows oxygen condensers and tanks as long as there is a clearly visible ‘D.O.T. Approved’ stamp or placard on it.

  • I did not receive my email confirmation?

    Hotmail, America Online, Yahoo! and Google email addresses are very popular and as a result receive a large amount of spam and junk email. For this reason they have junk mail filters that in some cases only allow those email addresses that are in your address book to arrive in your inbox.
